Why Trust USAALL
As an avid cyclist, I understand and have experienced pedals breaking when cycling through obstacles such as rocks and roots on those difficult trails that gives you thrills throughout the whole way. So I know what makes a good pedal. Although RockBros may not make performance pedals that can compete with some of Shimano’s SPD pedals. Most users will find that RockBros are a good alternative.
If you are someone who goes on difficult terrains constantly hitting rocks and roots then I’d suggest paying the price of the Shimano’s as these may not make it.
We only review products that have been given hundreds of positive reviews on Amazon and Walmart. So you know our reviews are based on some of the best reviewed RockBro pedals they’ve made.
Who are these for
RockBros make pedals that are universal for all the different types of bikes. This includes; Mountain Bikes, Road Bikes, Hybrid Bikes, Cruiser Bikes, BMX Bikes, and Kids Bikes. So no matter what bike you have as long as you have the standard 9/16″ fitting and looking for pedals that are durable then you should look at the RockBros pedals.
If you are a light user. Someone who commutes regularly. Or likes the light dirt trails then I’d recommend looking at the RockBros.
Our Pick: RockBros
Manufactured from aluminium alloy this provides the pedals with a strong foundation so they’re not only strong and durable but also light for the user.
Having lighter pedals makes it easier to ride as you’re not have to push around heavy pedals which pulls you away from enjoying your ride as you are constantly having to use more energy to move forward.
The pedals weigh approximately 202 grams each.
The standard 9/16″ fitting makes them universal for most bikes. However, it’s always worth checking first that your bike takes the 9/16″ fitting.
The rugged design is accompanied with metal pins to provide great traction. Especially if it’s wet.
They can take a beating but i’d always be cautious in purchasing if you know you’re going to be hitting the hard dirt trails more often than not.
Upgraded Pick: RockBros Advanced
The RockBros advanced as the name suggests are a more advanced version of the standard RockBros from our pick.
However, when we we’re reviewing them we noticed that even though they are slightly more expensive and include 4 bearings. We couldn’t notice any difference when using them.
The aesthetic appeal of these maybe a selling point to you. And the reason you’ll spend the extra few bucks.
But if aesthetics isn’t for you and you only care about performance we’d personally save those bucks and opt for the standard RockBros.
Both pedals from our pick and then upgrade pick use the same material aluminium alloy. But the design in the upgrade pick brings them in lighter at roughly 182 grams per pedal compared to the 202 grams per pedal.
Both pedals feature the same metal pin anti-slip feature which in both pedals we noticed was a good design choice and definitely helped on the muddy dirt trails where you’re constantly having to put your foot in the mud and back on the pedals to maneuver yourself around.
An alternative paid of pedals from RockBros which may be more use if you are looking for wider pedals.
These pedals have a 102mm large platform so if you have wider feet and looking for a wider set of pedals then for a similar price to our pick. You can get these.
They have great aesthetics coming in 5 awesome different color combinations.
These to are multipurpose for whatever bike you’re looking to put new pedals on.
They use the standard 9/16″ fitting. And feature a sealed bearing. Keeping the pedal sturdy and stable.
The 12 metal anti-skid nails make sure your foot doesn’t slip off no matter what the conditions are like.
No slip means that you’ll be able to increase pedaling efficiency.
Although these are the heaviest of the three that we’ve reviewed coming in around 422 grams for the pair.
But you must consider the larger platform that this pedal offers when it comes to the weight compared to the other two.
