The information on this page is meant as an introduction to the issues that affect your right to access public lands using motorized and mechanized vehicles.

Tips for Submitting Comments to Land Managers
Submitting comments in response to proposed actions, draft documents, and other public land decision processes is easy! Public land managers are looking for individualized comments from concerned citizens. That is why we don't have an automated letter writer on our website, and why we don't distribute "fill in the blank" comment letters.
Comment letters should be respectful, personal, as detailed as possible, and to the point. The basic components of a comment letter are:
1. Note what you are commenting on.
2. Indicate what you would like to see happen.
3. Relate any personal connections to the area/road/trail in question.
4. Always include your full name and mailing address.
Land managers rely on public comments to shape the direction of the their public land management policies. Along with donating to land use groups, submitting comments is one of the most important things you can do to help protect your access rights.
